Pictures: Army rescues group trapped due to floods in Ruwanwella

Fourteen (14) people, including children have been rescued from Ruwanwella in the Kegalle District which had been flooded due to the heavy rains experienced in the area.

The group was rescued following a special operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Army early this morning.

The operation which was launched at 03.00 am today, was conducted by a group of 25 people, including military officers attached to the Sinharaja Regiment of the Army camp situated in the Kegalle District.

The Military has conducted the special disaster operation at a time when the country is already battling the third wave of the coronavirus. (NewsWire)
