The Cabinet has granted approval for the International Holy Bhagvad Gita Festival 2024 to be conducted in Sri Lanka.
The annual Bhagvad Gita festival is conducted by the Kurukshetra Development Board in Haryana State, India to pay tribute to the sacred Bhagvad Gita along with the series of religious activities related to the sacred Bhagvad Gita, which is considered to be the most sacred book of Hindu devotees.
In recent years, the festival has been held in overseas countries as well, due to which it has been proposed for the International Holy Bhagvad Gita festival for the year 2024 to be held in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs to conduct the said festival in Sri Lanka.
It has been proposed for the festival to be conducted at the Nelum Pokuna premises from 01 – 03 March 2024 with the financial sponsorship of the Kurukshetra Development Board in Haryana State, India. (NewsWire)
