Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila has called on the public to use fuel economically to save foreign currency.
The MP tweeted that in reality, Sri Lanka is currently facing a foreign currency crisis.
Stating that fuel was 18% of the country’s import bill in the first quarter of 2021, the Minister said it may have increased to 25% in the second quarter of the year.
