Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has replied to media reports claiming he will retire from politics after serving 2 more years as Prime Minister.
Speaking to the Media yesterday, the Prime Minister said that he had no plans whatsoever to retire from office after two years.
He told the Daily Mirror that he was elected by the people for a period of five years, and therefore he would not leave office prior to the completion of his term.
“I have no intention to leave office after two years, despite contradictory media reports,” he said.
Media reports claimed that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will retire from Politics after 2 years and he will be replaced by his brother Basil Rajapksa. (NewsWire)
