The Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the incident where a puppy had been severely injured after being beaten up in Kalawana.
Video footage of the injured puppy had been widely shared on social media.
Allegations had also been raised against the Police for failing to take action in this regard.
The Police said the Acting Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Kalawana Police Station had been instructed to launch an investigation once informed of the incident.
The Kalawana Police had arrested a suspect yesterday (08) following the investigations and had produced him before the Kalawana Magistrate’s Court today.
The Legal Division of the Police Department is to conduct further investigations and initiate legal action. (NewsWire)
