The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved the Ceylon Electricity Board’s request to extend the daily power cuts to 2 hours and 20 minutes.
PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said that the extended power cuts will be enforced from Friday, 23rd September to Sunday, 25th September.
Thereby, Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, and W will experience power cuts for 1 hour during daytime and 1 hour and 20 minutes at night.
Janaka Ratnayake said the power cuts have been extended considering the unavailability of Old Laxapana Stage 1, lack of fuel at Westcoast, and sudden increase in electricity demand. (NewsWire)
