Protest held against Govt’s Domestic Debt Restructuring plans

A protest has been launched in Colombo today to voice objection to the actions of the government.

Accordingly, the protest is being held to object to the government’s decision to recast the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF) as part of its Domestic Debt Restructuring process for economic recovery.

Earlier today, the Fort Magistrate’s Court issued an order preventing the protesters, including trade unionists and politicians, from entering several parts of Colombo during the protest. (NewsWire)
