Protest outside Hirunika’s home for leading cost of living protest to President’s house

A group of people have protested in front of the residence of Hirunika Premachandra last night (5).

The group consisting about 50-100 people shouted in front of former MP’s house in Malabe and demanded that Ms. Premachandra come out of her house.

This protest was allegedly against Hirunika Premachandra for leading a protest earlier in the day in front of the President’s house in Mirihana.

The Samagi Vanitha Balawegaya staged a protest at Mirihana yesterday, with regard to the rising cost of living and calling for solutions to a number of issues, including a shortage of essential goods.

The group of women led by Hirunika Premachandra later marched up to the President’s house and staged a protest before handing over a letter to be handed over to the President. (NewsWire)
