A doctor attached to the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama has died today while being treated for COVID-19 at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Mohamed Janan who was working at the Plastic Surgery Unit of the hospital.
Dr. Mohamad who was initially admitted to the general Covid ward at the hospital had later been transferred to the ICU after his health condition had worsened and had been treated at the ICU for nearly two weeks.
However, he is reported to have passed away this morning after his health condition had further deteriorated. (NewsWire)
