Reasons for order instructing Otter Aquatic Club to vacate revealed

The Otter Aquatic Club has been ordered to vacate its current premises in Colombo-07 due to the failure to pay taxes, NewsFirst reported.

The Chairman of the Club revealed that the sports club owes Rs. 30 million in tax payments.

As measures to settle the due payments, a portion of the club premises will be sold out for the construction of a supermarket he said.

The Otter Aquatic Club located at Baudhaloka Mawatha in Colombo -07 was served a notice to vacate the premises by the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretary Priyantha Dissanayake.

In the notice, Dissanayake claims that the Otter Aquatic Club is illegally occupying the premises which belong to the Government.

Dissanayake further instructed the club to hand over the premises on or before 30 September 2020. (Newswire)
