The Government has been urged to further tighten the travel restrictions that are currently in effect in Sri Lanka.
The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) said the travel restrictions that have been imposed during the current islandwide lockdown must be further tightened by 80%-90%.
Addressing the media, GMOA Assistant Secretary Dr. Samantha Ananda also urged the Government to ensure that the travel restrictions are implemented properly during this period.
Stating that the technical committee of the Health Ministry should decide at what time and how the travel restrictions should be imposed, he said the technical decisions should be implemented by the Army and the Police.
“If the decisions are not implemented properly, legal action should be taken against the violators,” he added. (NewsWire)
