Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has requested Sri Lankan workers abroad to remain safe in their respective countries and not to return to Sri Lanka at this moment.
SLBFE statement added that requests from migrant workers to return to Sri Lanka will only be considered once the Covid19 pandemic is completely eradicated from Sri Lanka.
“All I have to say to the immigrant workers is that the Sri Lankan Government at the moment has a huge difficulty in arranging for all of you to comeback to the country. Therefore, please do not plan on coming back to Sri Lanka, because even if you come back, Sri Lankan government cannot provide the required facilities.
Please do not put Sri Lankan government unnecessarily in a difficult situation and if you love your motherland, please stay safe in wherever you are.” SLBFE chairman Kamal Ratwatte told Newsfirst last night.
