Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen’s brother-in-law who was arrested over a case of sexual abuse has been released on bail.
The suspect, who is Parliamentarian Bathiudeen’s wife’s brother, was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a woman in 2016.
The incident is reported to have taken place when the woman had been employed at MP Bathiudeen’s Colombo residence in 2016.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala today ordered the suspect to be released on a surety of Rs.500,000.
The court further ordered to impound the passport of the suspect and also impose a travel ban on him. (NewsWire)
