The stretch of road near the Kotmale Reservoir on the Harangala and Nawalapitiya main road has caved in.
On the advice of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), officials from the Nuwara Eliya District DMC office, Army, Police, and Urban Development Authority are inspecting the damaged road.
Engineers from the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka have informed that the incident has no impact on the Kotmale Reservoir.
Measures are being taken to repair the damaged road, while the Harangala- Nawalapitiya Road has been closed to traffic and motorists have been urged to use alternative roads. (NewsWire)
