The chief suspect involved in the robbery of Rs. 30.6 million worth cash, Jewellery and other valuables from a house in the Pelawatta area in Talangama has been arrested.
The 34-year-old man is said to have been involved in the robbery along with another suspect, on the 08th of May.
The Talangama Police had launched an investigation based on a complaint filed on the robbery. The owners of the house had claimed that two individuals had broken into their house.
CCTV footage monitored by the Talangama Police had revealed that the suspects had also fled with a safe from the house.
The chief suspect was arrested in Belihuloya, while the Police recovered Rs. 21 million in cash and other stolen goods.
The Police said further investigations are underway to apprehend the other suspect involved in the robbery. (NewsWire)
