Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today questioned a Cabinet paper submitted by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena seeking approval to grant transport facilities for five MPs who voted in the Presidency vote held recently.
“This letter clearly proves that various benefits were given to MPs to vote and now they want to continue it further,” he said.
The Opposition Leader added, “It’s a shocking that they are doing these things when the country is in an economic crisis.”
According to the letter, the Prime Minister is requesting permission from the Cabinet to give transport facilities and fuel for five MPs for a further two months.
The letter also confirms that they were given this facility before in order to vote during the vote for President. (NewsWire)
