Former Sri Lanka cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya has called for further Indian assistance to obtain essential medicines for Sri Lanka.
Sanath Jayasuriya had made the request during a meeting with the Indian High Commissioner of Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay today.
According to sources, the cricketer has requested Indian assistance to obtain medical supplies, which has become a major issue due to the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
Sanath Jayasuriya has requested essential cancer medicines and other life-saving drugs, which are in shortage in the country at present.
The Indian High Commissioner of Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay has provided a favourable response to Jayasuriya’s request.
Baglay has also briefed the former cricketer on the medical supplies that are to be dispatched from India to Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
