SC rejects Ranjan’s motion requesting to reconsider four year prison term

The Supreme Court today rejected the motion filed by Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Ranjan Ramanayake to reconsider his four- year prison sentence.

Ramanayake is currently imprisoned at the Angunukolapellessa prison on charges of contempt of court.

MP Ramanayake filed the motion at the Supreme Court through his lawyers.

The motion was rejected after it was taken up before the three- judge Supreme Court bench consisting of Sisira de Abrew, Vijith Malalgoda, and Preethi Padman Surasena today. (NewsWire)
