Senior Sri Lankan journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama has been summoned before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) next week.
Samarawickrame has been summoned over a discussion held with a Sri Lankan monk who identified himself as ‘Sri Vishva Buddha’.
The individual identifying himself as ‘Sri Vishva Buddha’, was arrested by the CID in December 2023 for making various statements related to Buddhism on social media.
According to reports, the monk’s social media posts contain content deemed disrespectful to Buddhism.
