The shooting incident reported in the Aliwatte area in Mattakkuliya last evening ended in a tense situation with several houses in the area being attacked by a group of people.
According to reports, two youths on a scooter had shot at a house targeting a 24-year-old youth.
However, the youth had managed to escape the shooting after which the gunmen fled the area.
Following the shooting, the victim’s relatives and friends had attacked several of the houses in the area which are reported to be connected to the gunmen. (NewsWire)
