Sirasa staff member who went missing at Mini World’s End found dead

The body of Dinura Wijesundara, a 34-year-old who was reported missing following an excursion to the Mini World’s End in Madulsima, has been found.

Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said the body was recovered following a search operation carried out by military personnel for the 3rd consecutive day today.

Wijesundara, who is an employee of a leading private media institution, is reported to have gone missing while on an excursion to Madulsima over the weekend.

General Shavendra Silva said military officers had been deployed to find the missing youth, and search operations had been carried out amidst heavy mist and adverse weather conditions.

He said the body of the youth was found after military officers had inspected nearly 200 feet of the precipice. (NewsWire)
