Prime Ministerial Candidate of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Sajith Premadasa has accused the government of financial fraud with regard to the electricity bill issued during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing an election rally in Rambukkana yesterday, Premadasa accused the government of collaborating electricity charges for the months of March, April and May and issuing bills to the public.
“The Government has once again betrayed the public. This is a lie and fraudulent act by the Government. This is the same betrayal that was done during the Presidential election’, he said.
Premadasa promised that a Government led by the SJB will be established and measures will be taken to redistribute to the public the payments made by them for the March and April electricity bills.
It is not the objective of the Government to help the public but instead to put them in distress, he added. (Newswire)
