The Ministry of Aviation says the government has decided to sell a 49% stake in SriLankan Airlines Catering and Ground Handling to a foreign investor.
Announcing the decision, Minister of Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva said the government will keep a 51% majority stake in the national carrier.
The Ministry has put forward proposals calling for investors to invest in 49% shares and administration of SriLankan Airlines Catering.
Investors are also being called for to invest in 49% shares and administration in SriLankan Airlines’ Ground Handling, the Minister said.
Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva also revealed that the total debt of Srilankan Airlines is USD 1.126 Billion (Rs. 401 Billion). (NewsWire)
