Khamshajiny Gunaratnam of Sri Lankan origin has been elected as a member of the Parliament of Norway.
Born in Jaffna and having left for Norway at the age of three, the young Khamshajiny Gunaratnam contested from the Labour Party.
On 21 October 2015 Gunaratnam was elected as the Deputy Mayor of Oslo by the City Council, while she was re-elected on 23 October 2019.
Khamshajiny Gunaratnam has now progressed to be elected as a member of the Norwegian Parliament in the elections that were held yesterday.
