SL Rugby Match Commissioner Ibrahim Hamid and son die due to Covid

Former Zahira College, Police SC Captain and Match Commissioner of Sri Lanka Rugby Ibrahim Hamid has passed away due to COVID-19, the Lankadeepa reported.

His son, Zulki Hamid, who is a former cricketer and member of the cricket committee of Royal College Colombo has also died after contracting the virus.

According to reports, the father and son, who are residents of Colombo, had died within a period of two days. 

Ibrahim Hamid is reported to have died last afternoon (19), while his son Zulki Mohamad had passed away this morning (20).

Hameed played for Zahira College, Colombo, and later led the Police outfit in 1971. He was attached to several committees at Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) including as the high-ranking Match Commissioner until recently.  (NewsWire)
