The house of former Dehiwala- Mount Lavinia Mayor Dhanasiri Amaratunga has been attacked following the unrest that broke out in Sri Lanka on Monday (09).
Dhanasiri Amaratunga is a Coordinating Secretary to former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Organizer for Dehiwala.
A group of individuals had ransacked and attacked the house of Dhanasiri Amaratunga during the unrest in the country.
Dhanasiri Amaratunga has publicly criticized President Gotabaya Rajapaksa several times recently over several decisions taken with regard to the economy.
The unrest broke out after SLPP loyalists attacked anti-government protesters in Colombo, prompting the public to retaliate by attacking vehicles and houses of SLPP politicos and loyalists. (NewsWire)
Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s Coordinating secretary Kelum Priyankara’s house in Hambantota was also attacked by an unidentified group.
