Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa has commended the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation (SLBF) for setting up a floodlit basketball court at the Sports Ministry premises.
Stating that it is encouraging to see the new basketball court, the Minister said he is sure that this partnership will help Sri Lanka and its basketball players to achieve their Olympics dreams.
Meanwhile, the SLBF said it is happy to confirm that it finally has a floodlit Basketball court, that it can call its own.
Stating that while it is set up for 3×3, the SLBF said the Federation has set the backstops on both sides so that both rings can be used when required.
The SLBF further said that Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa, Chairman of the Sports Council Mahela Jayawardene, and Director-General of Sport Amal Edirisooriya have been instrumental in offering the location to the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation.
The Federation added that the officials had also provided it with a facility to place a Backstop Indoor too. (NewsWire)
