The Sri Lanka Medical Association Intercollegiate Committee has submitted a proposal to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on measures to be taken to curtail the rapid spread of COVID-19.
In a three-point letter, the Committee called on the President to declare a very severe mobility restriction amounting to a lockdown for a minimum of two weeks, while maintaining essential services and the programme for vaccination uninterrupted.
The Committee further called for the allocation of vaccines that provide some immunity even with a single dose to all elders and people with comorbidities. (NewsWire)
