The win ended an eight match losing streak in T20I for Sri Lanka.
The visitors restricted the West Indies to 117 while chasing a target of 161
Champion spinner Wanindu Hasaranga bowled a match winning spell picking 3-17 in his 4 overs. He was well supported by other spinners Akila Dhananjaya and Lakshan Sandakan.
Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera also bowled a top spell with picking 2-25.
Batting first Sri Lanka posted 160/6 in 20 overs after being 94/0 in 10 overs.
Danushka Gunathilake top scored with 56 runs while youngster Pathum Nissanka impressed with 37 runs in just 23 balls.
