The Cabinet has given the approval to provide a grant of Rs. 2.5 million to the family of Priyantha Kumara Diyawadana who was brutally murdered in Pakistan recently.
Priyantha Kumara Diyawadana, who was working as a manager of a factory in Sialkot, Pakistan, was brutally murdered on Friday (03) by a mob.
The Minister of Labour has proposed to provide a grant to the family of Diyawadana on a humanitarian basis.
The grant is to be provided by the Employees’ Welfare Fund of the Bureau of Foreign Employment for the welfare of his wife and children.
The Government said Priyantha Kumara Diyawadana had made an extensive contribution to the Sri Lankan economy over a period of eleven years as a migrant worker. (NewsWire)
