Sri Lanka Central Bank cuts banks’ statutory reserve ratio (SRR) by 200 bps to release $600 million cash liquidity after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s strong worded discussion with Central Bank officials.
“The financial sector is expected to pass the benefit of the high level of liquidity and the reduced cost of funds to the economy without delay, by increasing lending to businesses and households at low cost” CBSL said in a statement.
