Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced it will elect new office bearers for the next two years on 20th May 2021.
The SLC said the first list of members who will be eligible to vote at the said election will be notified on Saturday (06).
The cricket administration said candidates will be permitted to file nominations to contest the election, on the 24th of February from 09.30 am to 03.30 pm.
Thereafter, the SLC election will be held from 10.30am at the Duncan White Auditorium of the Ministry of Sports in Colombo -07 in May.
The new office bearers from 2021-23 will be elected under the provisions of the Sports Act No.25 of 1973 (amended) and the provisions of the Constitution of Sri Lanka Cricket.
The following office bearers will be elected during the elections in May 2021:
President – 01 post
Vice President – 02 posts
Secretary- 01 post
Assistant Secretary – 01 post
Treasurer- 01 post
Assistant Treasurer – 01 post
Last week, former Sri Lanka cricket legend Sanath Jayasuriya denied media reports linking him to the Sri Lanka Cricket elections.
