The Board of Investment says that Sri Lanka has attracted over $500 million worth of orders for the production of personal protective equipment (PPEs), and expressed confidence the value will top $1 billion in the near future.
βThe country has been able to secure large orders for the production of PPEs β worth over $500 million β due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 33 factories are currently manufacturing those products. We expect more orders, which will soon surpass $1 billion mark,β BOI Director General Sanjaya Mohottala said, Daily FT Newspaper reported.
