Cricket icon Sanath Jayasuriya suffered an injury while batting in yesterday’s (10) match against the Bangladesh Legends in the ongoing Road Safety World Series tournament happening in India.
NewsWire contacted Sri Lanka Legends’ Manager on tour Sham Impett to get an update on Jayasuriya.
“He is nursing a hamstring strain. We are monitoring him closely and working on a recovery plan. We have a 4 day rest. Hopefully, if all goes well he can play against England” he said.
51 year old Jayasuriya had to ‘retire hurt’ on 4 runs after he opened the batting on Wednesday. SL legends went on to win the match against the Bangladesh Legends by 42 runs. (NewsWire)
