Sri Lanka resumes direct flights to France after six years

Sri Lanka has resumed its direct flights to Paris, France after a lapse of six years.

The first flight, UL 564, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake this morning. 

The flight arrived from France with a total of 200 passengers on board. 

SriLankan Airlines stated that the inaugural flight from Colombo to Paris left Sri Lanka on 30th October and arrived in France on 31st October at 7.30 am.

Upon Arrival, the Sri Lankan community in Paris together with the Sri Lankan Embassy in France welcomed the Sri Lankan delegation led by the Minister for Tourism and Promotions Prasanna Ranathunga and Chairman SriLankan Airlines Ashok Pathirage.

The national carrier said Sri Lanka will operate flights between the BIA and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport from today. 

The airlines further said that the direct flights will be operated every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. (NewsWire)
