Sri Lanka Rupee depreciates to all-time low

The highest ever official selling rate of the US Dollar in Sri Lanka was reported today.

The US Dollar was sold at Rs. 204.89 as per the daily foreign currency exchange report issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The Bank had allowed the Rupee to depreciate to Rs. 204.90 against the US Dollar today from the previous day’s rate of Rs. 202.90.

The Sri Lanka Rupee had depreciated today for the first time in several weeks after being maintained at Rs. 202 by the Central Bank.

However, it has been reported that commercial banks in the country are selling the US Dollar between Rs. 228- Rs. 230 for importers. (NewsWire)
