State Minister Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle says that the Government will treat asymptomatic Covid 19 patients within their homes starting from Monday (17).
Minister said that patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 in PCR test but do not indicate any symptoms will be treated at their homes according to this new decision.
Health officials are currently forming guidelines on how to give treatments and how a patient should behave if they are treated at home.
“If any of the asymptomatic patients suffer from any complications, they will be hospitalized for treatment” Dr. Fernandopulle said.
Currently all Covid patients reported in Sri Lanka are taken to a Covid intermediate treatment facility but due to the high number of patients reported many had to spend four to five days at their homes before entering an intermediate treatment facility.
Sri Lanka currently has 27,056 active Covid patients in the country and majority of them are asymptomatic patients. (NewsWire)
