Sri Lankan among researchers who developed AI-powered headset for visually impaired to “see”

A Sri Lankan is among the research team that has spearheaded the development of a headset which uses AI to identify objects for the visually impaired.

Associate Professor Suranga Nanayakkara is the research lead of the product, developed together with the NUS School of Computing.

Called AiSee, the headset can read the label on a product or match its image to a known item and then tell the user what it is. (NewsWire)
