Sri Lanka’s biggest international cricket ground with 40,000 seating capacity and Day/Night cricket facilities will be build in Homagama, Minister Bandula Gunawardena announced today.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena today visited the proposed land allocated to build the land along with Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva.

Shammi Silva said that Homagama International Cricket ground will be the 2nd International Cricket ground in Colombo district with Day/Night light facilities.
“We think this will cost us around US$ 30 to 40 million” Shammi Silva said.
Mahela questions decision to build another International cricket stadium
Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that ground will be completely constructed within 3 years.
He said that 26 acres of land has been allocated for the project at diyagama in Homagama.
