Sri Lanka’s inflation, as measured by the change in the Colombo Consumers’ Price Index (CCPI), has declined to 5.7 percent in September 2021.
The Department of Census and Statistics reported yesterday (30) that inflation has dipped from 6.0 percent recorded in the previous month (August).
This was due to the statistical effect of the high base that prevailed in September 2020, the Department said.
Subsequently, Food inflation (Y-o-Y) decreased to 10.0 percent in September 2021 from 11.5 percent in August 2021.
Meanwhile, Non-food inflation (Y-oY) increased to 3.8 percent in September 2021 from 3.5 percent in August 2021. (NewsWire)
