Sri Lanka’s Pekoe Trail, a new hiking trail that leads to the heart of the hill country, has been recognized by the British Guild of travel writers.
Pekoe Trail has won the Best Wider World Tourism Project organized by the British Guild of travel writers.
Among five countries nominated in the final by the British Guild of travel writers, Sri Lanka’s Pekoe Trail emerged victorious.
The Pekoe Trail is a 300-kilometer curated long distance walking trail through the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, one of Asia’s best kept secrets.

The 22 – stage walking trail takes you through some of the finest ecology and mountain terrain in the South of Asia.
The trail begins in Kandy and makes its way to Nuwara Eliya, passing through Haputale, Hatton and Ella.
