It has been decided to present a State award to Sri Lankan singer Yohani de Silva who has reached international fame with her hit single ‘Menike mage hithe’, State Minister Vidura Wickramanayake said today.
The State Minister said Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, in his capacity as the Minister of Cultural Affairs, has decided to present the award to the singer in the near future.
Vidura Wickramanayake further said Yohani has brought international fame to Sri Lanka as an artist and the country bestows its best wishes to her.
The State Minister made the observation in Parliament, responding to a question raised by Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Hesha Vithanage on the singer’s achievement. (NewsWire)
