State Minister Sanath Nishantha has stated that he paid Rs 2.6 million for the electricity bill related to MP Namal Rajapaksa’s wedding reception in 2019.
The State Minister mentioned that even though MP Namal Rajapaksa is not responsible for covering the bill, as it was incurred by the Presidential security division for the security of VVIPs who attended the wedding, he chose to settle the amount to resolve the issue.
He expressed that this decision to pay the bill was a gesture of gratitude towards Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who he believes played a pivotal role in safeguarding the country from terrorism and fostering its development.
Additionally, he clarified that he is using his personal funds to cover this expense.
