Sri Lanka cricketer Bhanuka Rajapaksa has cited personal reasons for his withdrawal from the ODI squad for the Afghanistan series, in a statement issued via social media today.
The batsman said that he had made a decision to withdraw from the squad with the hope of recovering both mentally and physically.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa also revealed that certain “niggles” have hampered his performance lately.
Earlier this evening, Sri Lanka Cricket accepted his request to withdraw from the squad and released him from the team.
