A special quarantine operation has been conducted to inspect street vendors and various institutions in the Western Province.
The Police said 187 street vendors were inspected during the special operation carried out yesterday.
Nearly 152 institutions, including gyms, theatres, Daycare centres, tuition classes, restaurants, and eateries were also inspected during this period.
The special quarantine operation was conducted to ascertain if the managements and the public were adhering to the health guidelines issued on COVID-19.
During the operation, ten people were arrested for violating quarantine regulations, while 14 were placed in quarantine by health officials. Another 1987 people were warned by the Police.
The Police said the quarantine operations will continue to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus in the country. (NewsWire)
