A teacher from Gampola has been arrested on charges of brutally assaulting her mother-in-law.
The Police said the teacher attached to a leading school in Wallahagoda, Gampola was arrested after a video of the assault was circulated on social media.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Gampola Police had also received a complaint in this regard.
The Video on social media shows the teacher attacking her mother-in-law with a knife and the woman later falling to the ground after being pushed by the former.
The Police said the injured woman is said to have filed many complaints with the Police over the repeated assault by her daughter-in-law.
It is reported that the Police had warned the suspect on multiple occasions and had released her. (NewsWire)
