The Police said that 3 suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction of a 16-year-old school girl in Embilipitiya.
The victim had been abducted after she left school on Friday afternoon (12) when the 3 suspects had forced her into a three-wheeler and fled the scene.
She had then been reportedly taken to an abandoned house in the Sevanagala area and the abductors have tried to abuse the victim.
However, the Police mentioned that the school girl had retaliated and managed to foil the abusers’ attempts.
The police added that a passerby had later assisted the girl to return home. The 16-year-old girl has been admitted to the hospital while the arrested suspects are currently being interrogated. (NewsWire)
