A death has been reported in early hours of Saturday (23) of a railway security officer after being reportedly pushed out from a moving train.
The incident has taken place when the security officer on duty in the train has reportedly tried to remove few passengers who were consuming alcohol inside the train, following a complaint from other passengers.
At the time of taking the concerned passengers away from the compartment, one of the suspects had kicked the security officer, where he had fallen off the moving train.
The incident has happened inside the train bound to Jaffna when it was passing near Veyangoda.
After receiving information regarding the incident, Veyangoda Police have recovered the body of the security officer lying around 100 meters away from the Wadurawa railway station.
The deceased is a 52-year old resident of Oruthota while the suspects arrested are a 31-year-old from Nochchiyagama and a 23-year-old from Anuradhapura.
