Two new ministers?

Sri Lankan businessman Dhammika Perera has been tipped to be appointed as a Cabinet Minister. 

According to reports, Dhammika Perera has decided to resign from Board Memberships of all his companies.

He has also reportedly sent his consent to accept a National List Membership of Parliament from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

SLPP General Secretary MP Sagara Kariyawasam said that Dhammika Perera’s name has been sent to the National Election Commission.

He said Dhammika Perera will fill the SLPP National List seat in Parliament which was vacated following the resignation of former MP Basil Rajapaksa.

Dhammika has already accepted the membership of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna

Dhammika Perera is reportedly tipped to be appointed as the Minister of Technology and Investment Promotion.

Meanwhile, SLPP MP Pavithra Wanniarachchi is tipped to be appointed as the Minister of Women, Child Affairs, and Social Empowerment.

A Gazette notification was issued last night announcing the creation of the two new Ministries of Technology and Investment Promotion, and Women, Child Affairs, and Social Empowerment. (NewsWire)
