An individual has been injured after being shot by unidentified gunmen at Jubili Mawatha on Ambaraluwa road in Weliweriya early this morning.
According to the Police, the victim had been travelling in a car when two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire at him.
The suspects are reported to have left the motorcycle they had arrived on at the scene and fled in a mini lorry.
The injured person, who is a resident of Madelgamuwa in Udugampola, has been admitted to the Gampaha Hospital.
The cause of the shooting is unknown, while the Weliweriya is conducting investigations. (NewsWire)
